Why Humidity is a Good Thing

Humidity in Kansas is dreaded by humans and animals alike. Today the humidity was particularly high and we all sweated, me (actually girls perspire?), the horses and the dogs. Chet worked on horse hooves this morning... lots of perspiring and when I cleaned the kennels this afternoon, we were all hot. I looked wilted when we walked back into the luxury of an air conditioned home! So why is humidity a good thing? Well, #1. Humidity helps a non-gardener keep birthday plants alive and blooming. Thank you Robin.
A few years ago, Bud and I scoured the country road ditches and pastures for the perfect flat-enough, platter sized rocks that we used to build our tiered flower garden complete with wild and chosen flowers. You may wonder how we got such pretty flowers... think about it... our herd of horses = automatic fertilizer incubators... Oh ick! Sorry!

Here are a few of my favorite blooms from this week. Enjoy.
